TOW The Nap Partners

Great episode! This is my favorite of the season so far.

First, Phoebe/Rachel:

I was afraid this might be a weak copy of the guys' storyline in 422. But to my pleasant surprise, this was actually an entertaining plot. There were many high points --- from Phoebe's tackling of Ross, to Phoebe's shower revelation, to their realization of the consequences of planning a wedding with Monica. JA and LK's acting was brilliant. And there was no Tag as well!

Also, R&R fans had to be pleased to hear Rachel say she may marry Ross again, even if it was only a throwaway line. There was even something for J&P fans, as Phoebe was clearly dismayed at the thought of Rachel marrying Joey.

Second, Chandler/Monica:

Finally, we actually had an unforced C&M plot that allowed the characters to be themselves, without any ridiculously annoying personality changes. Instead of screaming at Chandler, Monica stayed restrained when she found out he dumped the girl because of her weight. And Chandler was back to his witty self, having many well-timed jokes.

Every month, I'd rather the writers concentrate on ONE funny C&M plot like this, instead of making 3-4 lesser C&M plots. Maybe then, more people will enjoy this couple.

Third, Ross/Joey:

As weird as this story was, I have to admit I was laughing the whole time. I've never thought much of the R&J friendship, but this was definitely a C&J caliber plot. Ross and Joey work much better together than Joey and Rachel. The ending ranks as one of the funniest Friends tags ever. DS and MLB were marvelous.

Once again, Die Hard is mentioned. Ross should have noticed the main character's resemblance to Paul. Or is there no Bruce Willis in the Friends universe? Maybe someone else stars in that movie…

Overall, 706 was definitely a sweeps quality episode. This proves no guest stars or major plot developments are necessary to make a great episode. I can't wait until next week…

Not to brag or anything, but I'm in Die Hard 2. Yup. I was an extra. Immediately before the big glass plate window breaks and the people pour out of the airport (near the end of the movie), you can see me from about the eyes up in the middle/upper left area of the screen. I wonder if that means that Ross, Joey, and Chandler have seen me? Wow. And I wonder if they all jump on their Internet newsgroup alt.movies.diehard2.extras and talk about it. Interesting. . I could be famous and not know it!! The possibilities are endless. . . . =) =)

My friend (who was there with me as an extra) actually has a screen shot where he is larger on the screen than Bruce Willis. He has it framed and hanging in his office. What a geek. . . =)

Some of it was filmed at Denver's old Stapleton airport at about 3:00 in the morning. The movie production crew thought there would be snow on the ground here, so they moved the whole thing to Denver in November. Well, we were having very warm 55 or 60 deg F. days then, with not a flake of snow, so they had to use "fake" snow and big fans. . . It's amazing what Hollywood thinks of Denver. I'd bet places like Buffalo get more snow than we do. . . They could have done what they did here in Hollywood and it would have been much cheaper I'm sure. . .

Bruce Willis and I brushed shoulders. I didn't say anything cuz they asked us not to talk to the stars, so I didn't bother him. Besides, he's shorter than I thought. I think they all are.

That was my one and only claim to Hollywood fame, and likely to remain so.

Now, anybody want me to autograph a Die Hard 2 video box??? =) =)

I also liked when Rachel said something to the effect of "I'm gonna marry someone real good!" :)

Or you could autograph Die Hard 1 twice...then it would be Die Hard 2!

I loved their competition in J+R's apartment. It made me think about 412 TOW The Embryos. :) While Rachel was clearly the best candidate, Phoebe showed us that she knows how to get the guys' votes.

I didn't miss Tag for a second. On the contrary, I was relieved that he was nowhere to be seen.

BTW, I thought Rachel's speech at the end was entirely fake (kinda like Chandler's behaviour in 418 TOW Rachel's New Dress), so I was surprised to see that she actually meant it.

And what about that scene where both Rachel and Phoebe started flirting with Ross when he entered the apartment? :)

True. This was a really sweet story. She showed us that she's still insecure when it comes to her looks, and I think this is very believable Monica was so nice in this episode, and I'm happy to say that screeching Monica seems to have disappeared (for now).

The look on the other guys' faces said it all, didn't it? :)

And it was so funny to see that Joey was a part of a gay-storyline for once! Usually it's Chandler who becomes the victim in these types of stories.
