I don't know whether this has been discussed before but here goes. Yesterday I was watching TOW Joey's Porsche and I noticed (another) continuity error. When Phoebe tries to trick Monica and Chandler to help her watch her brother's babies she first asks them if they would like to watch three cute puppies and Chandler says "Yeah, all right". And we all know how Chandler supposedly feels about dogs, *especially* about puppies (TOW Chandler Doesn't Like Dogs). He didn't even try to get out of it, let alone freak out. OK, so Chandler wasn't really enthused about having to watch the puppies but that was (according to his mimic) because he felt it would be a hassle. Chandler obviously had no real problem with having to watch *dogs*. So I ask, isn't this a continuity error? (I think it is)
Chandler was visibly unenthused, which was so not the response that Phoebe expected that her gambit would get from him.
What does "his mimic" mean?
You forget that Joey had previously told Chandler that he must never admit to his dog thing, or else people would hate him. Chandler told Monica that he did not want to look after puppies, then she persuaded him that looking after babies would be good practice for him.
In 103 "TOW the Thumb", when Chandler wanted an example of a lie that parents tell their kids, he came up with having a dog put to death.
In 105 "TOW the East German Laundry Detergent", Chandler suggested to Janice that they could rent a car, and run over some puppies. To him it was only a joke, but she was offended.
In 109 "TOW Underdog Gets Away", Chandler is amused when an 80-foot inflatable dog causes havoc in the city, and is eventually shot down.
In 217 "TOW Eddie Moves In", Chandler enjoys wearing slippers made out of the (fake) bodies of two dead puppies.
In 219 "TOW Eddie Won't Go", Chandler finally likes a dog - it's made out of porcelain, so it's not needy or jumpy, and he doesn't have to worry about what it's thinking.
In 408 "TOW Chandler in a Box", we learnt that Rachel told Chandler that a big dog ripped a backpack off her & ran away with it. He believed her.
In 409 "TOW They're Gonna Party!", Chandler recalls waking up with Ross in Nova Scotia after a huge binge, and his relief that their faces were being licked by seals, not dogs.
In 411 "TOW Phoebe's Uterus", the others coo over Phoebe's puppy, except for Chandler who keeps his distance, and makes a disparaging remark.
In 507 "TOW Ross Moves In", Chandler tries to think of the worst reason why Ross's new landlord should reject him, so he says that Ross has a big huge dog that barks into the night. When to his surprise the man says he won't mind, the next worse Chandler can imagine is a tap dancing pimp.
In 614 "TOW Chandler Can't Cry", Chandler admits he'd be sad if a puppy lost a leg - but if the crippled animal could talk he'd make his fortune.
In 620 "TOW Mac and C.H.E.E.S.E.", Chandler was delighted to hear that Joey's rival for the part of Mac had been forced to drop out, until he heard that the man had been mauled by his dog.
In 702 "TOW Rachel's Book", Chandler told Monica that he wanted to have four kids & a cat, then had to lie to her that he'd meant to say dog.
Tennant...oh---my--God. Your treasure trove of knowledge never ceases to amaze me. I thought it was only Friends related, but that belief was shot down after I read your Santa Claus answer to the commercialization of Christmas post....if I get to pick who I come back as next time around, I'll pick you, then go on Jeopardy and win it all.
Thanx Ashley, but the puppy dog stuff is straight out of the transcripts, so Eric Aasen did most of the work there - and the Santa Claus bit was lifted out of a fortune cookie based on a book by Tom Burnam. Ain't the internet wonderful?

I'd only just been watching 114 "TOW the Candy Hearts", where Joey leaves his credit card with Chandler who starts suggesting to Janice various ways of spending Joey's money, and the memory kinda got in the way.

In one early episode (Season 2) Monica is going out with Richard and they are discussing 'quirky' things i.e.. folding down the end of the toilet paper into a point by Monica etc... In this episode Monica states that she has to sleep on a certain side of the bed - has anyone noticed that when we see her and Chandler in bed together now she is on the opposite side to what she had previously said?
Well.. yeah but... thats got nothing to do with continuity. A continuity error is something which is clearly impossible. This can be easily explained in 3 ways if not 10. Heres two:
Monica is more stable than she used to be
The bed has been moved to the other side of the room (probably not)
Possibly, she could have 'relaxed' a little and become a little less uptight about these sort of things, but I think the writers just forgot! (like all the other little 'errors' - continuity or not!!)

I'm not even an expert on the whole Chandler/Monica thing, because I've missed a great deal of episodes this season. I've used my own personal experiences to help me out on this topic, so I might be alone in this which means I could be wrong and you could be right.

Some people get used to a particular direction in which they lie and are used to a certain side of a bed especially if they sleep alone in a double bed (of course when they prefer the whole bed that's when things get really nasty). Yes it's weird. The best side of the bed moment must be in Ghostbusters 2 between Peter and Dana, maybe it's not a true moment but it's a classic.
Dana: So how are we going to handle the sleeping arrangements? Peter: Well what's best for me is if I lie on my side like this and you spoon up beside me with your arm draped over me. We do it the other way <flips over> and I get your hair caught in my throat and choke in the night. Dana: How about you on the sofa and me and the baby in the bed? Peter: <shrugs> It's a way to go.
I think he'd just like you to know he has one and on the off-chance he actually does, ewwww! In his advanced years, he should never be allowed to do it. EWW!!! EWW!!!

If 620 is the one where they flashback on Joey's career (and a lot of other major events), then yeah....we saw 620. I can't believe we're so close to season 7 already, but I don't think they're going to air it until this fall. If s6 has 24 epsisodes, then s6 should end on Feb 4. You guys are 2 episodes ahead, aren't you?

That's if they air 624 and 625 on separate Sundays. What happened in earlier year with the double-length finales to Seasons Four & Five?
It's like all the previous seasons - some good, some not so good, the odd clunker, and the occasional brilliant classic. You will find that most of some people's complaints about S6 have been listened to.
They split up episodes like that and show us a bit from the previous episode to refresh our memories.
I just wish the writers would take a peek at ATF from time to time and maybe even ask us what kind of changes should be made to bring the show back to the level it started at.

Maybe we should have a campaign of mentioning ATF on various message boards, mailing lists, and web sites - they're advertised enough here.

So we can never trust the distributors again or is it some blackball action to help DVD take the place of VHS?
Which mean they weren't aired either? That happens all the time without our knowledge. What really grinds my gears is when they air it, but leave out parts when they sell it on tape or whatever.

That's my point! So they generally screwed the fans that spent all their hard earned money on the vhs boxsets. How are we supposed to trust Warner Brothers again? I'm not the kind of guy that gets agitated real soon, but this pisses me off!

In addition to these full versions that have aired in the USA and in the UK, there are the uncut versions that have just been released in the States. I'm not sure that Ross' wedding with Emily has been fully shown on VHS, because I keep getting signals that the uncut version is on DVD and the cut version is on VHS. It's called capitalism. They're not trying to make you happy, they're trying to make themselves rich, err... more rich.
At least DVDs have more resale value than tapes do, since they are not worn out by constantly being played, and they can be instantly checked for any accidental damage just by glancing at them.
