2 more seasons?!

A 2 year extenstion of Friends seems like HOORAY! but is it really?

I mean, Season 6 (except Season Finale - haven't seen) was pretty much trash. I had predicted in Season 5 that the show would go till Season 7. That's what I would say is enough!

Season 8?! That's crazy! How old will the cast be by then? These writers better have some tricks up their sleeve and some fresh ideas or else we're headed for some crappy tv. (hey, I'll still watch a trashy Friends ep. over most of the active comedy sitcoms, but that's not the point!)

Of note, most people said Season 4 was pretty bad, and Season 5 turned out to be one of the funniest. Hopefully Season 7 will turn things around!

It's like M*A*S*H. Wait till your peak year, then stay 2-3 years later and wind things down while you are still a top show and they ask you to leave. Friends will be a rare show that was never canceled.

your message illustrates an important point. You'll never get any two people to agree on everything where Friends is concerned. You won't find many people outside the C+M camp calling season 5 one of the funniest. Also, some people loved season 4. Some people hated season 1. So it follows, Friends will last its contract, because even if you, me, or them start to loathe it, we'll never stop watching. There'll be someone saying 814 is the best episode ever. There'll be someone saying 819 is the worst ever, there'll still be people saying WILL THERE BE A SEASON 8 one year from now, relentlessly. Ok i've lost the point, y'all find it :)
