It's likely that this mistake has come up before, but I haven't seen it so here goes.
In TOW The Flashback, Chandler's apartment is #19 and Monica's is #20. But back when the show began they had different numbers. So, either (1) the numbers in the flashback were wrong, or (2) the numbers were wrong in the first eps, or (3) Someone got goofy for a couple of weeks and switched Chandler and Monica's apartment numbers--and we never heard them mention it.
Just out of curiosity, does anyone know why they changed the apartment numbers after episodes had already aired? I don't mean in "Friends world"; I mean at the WB. Were the numbers 6 and 7 (or whatever they were) too low for the fifth floor?

I think they just changed them, no reasoning. But 6 and 7 being too low for the fifth floor is good as any reason.
306 "TOW The Flashback" reminds me of another silly little continuity mistake... in this episode Rachel thinks a little bit about having a little fling with Chandler... however in 705 "TOW The Engagement Picture" Rachel is talking to Joey about her crush on Tag, and....
RACHEL: I just don't want him to meet anybody until I am over my crush-And I will get over it. It's-it's not like I love him, it's just physical! But-I mean I get crushes like this all the time! I mean hell, I had a crush on you when I first met ya!
JOEY: I know, Monica told me.
CHANDLER: Did you have a crush on me, when you first met me?
RACHEL: Yeah. Sure. (Joey nods his head questioningly and Rachel nods no.)
CHANDLER: Can you people not see me?! (He waves his arms around to get their attention.)
So either Rachel was lying to be the meanie b#tch that people have been claiming her to be, or she forgot that she was thinking about sex when she first met Chandler (although this opens up the bigger mess of 306, being the inaccuracies with the other Thanksgiving flashbacks where it seems Rachel, Ross, Chandler, Monica were all well acquainted pretty much up until the beginning of Season One.)
It's a silly one, but one no less. I don't care if people shoot it down, it is silly. ;-)

The worst part of the Thanksgiving flashback episode is that it retroactively established a crush that Monica had on Chandler, which really destroyed the idea that two people could become lovers after being nothing but friends for so long. And even that wasn't as bad as the development in TOW Truth About London, where Monica reveals that she wasn't even looking to sleep with Chandler that night, after all.
Well, that *was* the reason. But it's not a mistake, since it is possible for apartments to be renumbered in real life. When we last discussed this a few months ago, somebody wrote in to say it had happened to them.
What *is* a continuity error, is that the numbers went from 4/5 to 19/20 then back to 4/5 then stayed at 19/20. This happened because episodes are not shown in the order in which they were made.
Rachel did not have a crush on Chandler in 306, she just fantasised about some meaningless sex with a man who was not Barry Farber. Because all the characters are so well-known to us, it's hard to recognise that to Rachel, Chandler was just some friend of Monica's geeky older brother, who messed up their Thanksgiving one year. She didn't connect this person as the same guy when she briefly met him again, some years later. If you watch 508, JA does her best to show that young Rachel was very self-absorbed, and took very little notice of Chandler or Ross.

That's exactly right. I remember reading somewhere that the producers had the numbers switched because they realized that no apartment building in New York had single-digit numbers on an upper floor.
