In hopes of finally winning the emmy it so richly deserves, which episode do you think they should submit for emmy consideration/winning? If you feel that strongly, email [email]. Friends has never won best series but ally mcbeal and frasier has -- it is a great injustice.
I liked the two episodes in which Joey declared his feelings to Ross and Rachel.
If they could, I'd say give Emmys to everyone but since they can't, I think that the best performances this year came from Matt LeBlanc and Jennifer Anniston.

I agree. I think the JA will/should be nominated again this year, although i can't decide which episode to enter. And for the show as a whole, I'd say TOW the videotape and......um...can't decide, really.

I assume the original question was not for a particular best actor/actress, but best comedy. (Not to take away from your comment about JA. I agree with you.) With best comedy in mind, I have to wonder what they evaluate as the most important factors? Can it be narrowed down that way? Or is it just everything together?
If we are looking at writing, then I like "TOW The Videotape" because it masterfully tied the various subplots together at the end, and it was completely unexpected--very fresh.
If they want to play up the acting, I think MLB did a fantastic job in "TOW Joey Tells Rachel."
It's very difficult to find one episode that highlights all of the best aspects of the show together. If I were doing it, I'd probably submit "TOW The Videotape" but I think my personal bias for that ep clouds my opinion.
Btw, I think "Only Time" should be nominated in the category of "Most Pervasive Background Music."
TOW Videotape is easily the funniest episode of the year.

Jennifer Aniston will most likely get an Emmy nod. In fact, I'd go as far as saying that she's a lock this year. Hopefully, she will get that well-deserved Emmy come September, but knowing Friends' luck, I guess we can't count on it.
Matt LeBlanc deserves a nod for his performance in 816 TOW Joey Tells Rachel alone, but he has been amazing all season, so he definitely deserves a nod. However, I don't think he'll actually win an award.
As for the show itself, both critics and most fans agree that it has been a great season, so it should be fairly certain that it will get a nomination, but the academy will probably end up giving the award to Sex and the City, just like all the other awards-shows.
