Pitt and Aniston Settle Ring Lawsuit Sun, Jan 13, 2002 01:33 AM PDT
LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) - Hollywood couple Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston ("Friends") settled their lawsuit against the Italian jewelry designer who made their wedding bands.
The $50 million suit was settled out of court, according to media sources.
The couple accused Silvia Damiani and Damiani International last July of breaking an agreement to never replicate the rings, which were designed by Pitt. Damiani had been selling the rings over the Internet and in several jewelry stories, using the actors' names and faces to help sell the rings.
"The legal proceedings between Brad Pitt, Jennifer Aniston and Damiani have been amicably resolved and were the result of an unfortunate misunderstanding," says Damiani International.
As part of the agreement, Pitt will design an exclusive jewelry collection for the company, which Aniston help advertise. The ads will not appear in North America.
