I have noticed that this season each and every episode has at least 2 or 3 cuss words and alot of conversations about sex (and it's not just Joey doing the talking). I know in the past they have done it but this year it seems more noticable (at least to me) Every now and then it's funny, but after a while, it gets old. Is it me or have you noticed it too?

The risque stuff doesn't bother me when I believe it could actually happen. I believe that a guy could be having a little fun with alliteration - beautiful bouncy baby butt - or whatever it was - and find his baby amused by "baby got back." I do not believe that Jack Geller told Monica what sexual position to use to get impregnated.

Andr�, I am not American nor do I play one on TV, but I think it is not true that all Americans are prudes. Not all Americans like violence either. One thing I have learned about growing up in one country and moving to another is that it is impossible to generalise. Thankfully, there are some Americans that view human sexuality as perfectly normal and gratutious violence as abnormal.

I wasn't necessarily referring to the people but rather to the executives, be it at TV stations or film studios. They don't have as much issues with violence than they have with sexuality, or at least that's how it comes across. Also, I remember some police show really getting into the papers for using a word like "shit" at 8 pm or something, think it was NYPD something or some other crime show, that deals with murder, drug abuse and a lot of other stuff, but they all get freaked out when they use some four letter word?? Anyone else out there who sees the irony?

That's what made me notice it to begin with: my nieces. They were watching the episodes I had taped and I was concerned about what they would hear. My sister tries to filter their entertainment viewing so I also wanted to respect her wishes. She lets them see most stuff cos they hear it everyday at school, she just wants to tone it down some while they are at home. They did see most of the shows from this season and they didn't seem to mind it but I noticed. That's why I wrote this to begin with. To see if anyone else had and they did. I thought I was going crazy! I have seen every show and have them all taped or on dvd so I was a little dissapointed with the changes this year but will still watch it because, well, they're my "Friends".

You are missing a prime opportunity to share with your kids and guide them in an appropriate direction. Otherwise they hear this stuff second hand from other kids who did watch the Friends episode and they have no context in which to place it. I am so glad my parents did not avoid these issues with me.
