Ok, i think it was....season 6, when Monica and chandler had a fight the game room/guest room - and and chandler said something like "asteroids was the first video game ever" - My mother and I disagreed and tohught it was Pong [even though i was born in 1984, Ihad heard pong wasthe firs game] -

AFAIK, Pong *was* the first game. I used to work in a science museum that had an arcade version of it because it was the first one.

I too believe Pong was the first. I think Chandler was just exaggerating. Indeed, Asteroids was an early game, but definitely not the first.

I think Pong was the first, Space Invaders came before Asteroids as well IIRC.
They just reran that episode. There's a great conversation between Ross, Chandler, and Monica, where Ross is trying to convince Chandler to move in with Monica. It is classic Chandler and Monica.

CHANDLER: That's laughter.
MONICA: [annoyed] Why do you have to do it?
CHANDLER: I don't know...
