701 mpeg?

I have the avi file for episode 701 and I am trying to convert it to mpeg. I have tried several utilities that normally work ok (xing encoder, avi2mpeg, VCD cutter) but I cannot get any of them to convert this file. Has anyone else tried to do this? I need it on mpeg as I have a Realholywood + card to show files on TV but it needs to be in mpeg format.

As I said before I have a realmagic mpeg card which is connected to my TV in order to view mpeg files and DVD's from my DVD ROM on my TV. Unfortunately the card does not support AVI format so I need to convert to mpeg in order to watch the files on my TV. I can still watch the AVI file on my PC monitor but I would like to be able to view the episode on my TV.

I've already been there (I noticed your post in an earlier thread) and so far most of the converters I found there (that weren't trials which leave bars or only encode 30 secs) haven't worked, but thanks anyway

I'm not exxagerating, I've got a 650 Athlon to do the job, but even when I overclock it to 733mhz, it takes like forever to encode all the eps. Luckily, there is a batch option, so you can basicly input a bunch of files and leave your comp overnight to do the encoding. Just make sure you've got enough HDD space.

Once you've done that, you can easily burn it on a cd and you got a homemade VCD.

Thanks Chan Man. I do a lot of mpeg encoding (OK I admit it DVD ripping) and I thought I had heard of every encoder but TMPGEnc is brilliant and freeware too!! It isn't that slow though. Have you ever tried FLASKMpeg to convert DVD VOB files into MPEG files. A 2 hour movie can take anything up to 36 hours to convert!!!

Well, until there's a encoding software that can encode in good quality in twice the speed, IT's slow^_^

Well, since I don't have a DVD-rom, I haven't done that^_^ I've just captured some videos and made vcds out of them. Took me a LOOONG time to find the right software.
