Hi everybody!!
I downloaded 2 files, one called "Monica gets a new roommate" and "TO When it all begun" thinking that one of them was the pilot and the other the first episode of the series, but they were both the same! IS there a real pilot film to the series or is the actual first episode with Monica's new roommate the pilot????????

Many times, the Pilot is used as the first episode, which I believe is the case here. And Monica Gets A New Roommate is the official name of it.
There is a version out there with extended footage.

It's just an episode which is referred to in a lot of different ways.

TOW it all began was the pilot and the first episode. I suppose that the person from whom you downloaded the "Monica gets a new roommate" episode just changed the name of the file.

I don't know where this "TOW It All Began" business started... the ep was referred to as "TOW Monica's New Roommate" for years and years, at least until the DVD came out, which is when I think for some reason they retroactively renamed it. Probably because when the pilot was first written, they had no idea how huge a success the show would become, and naming it "TOW It All Began" seemed inappropriate and pompous at the time.

Mind you, according to both epguides.com & the IMDb, the actual wording of the title is "TOW Monica Gets a Roommate", although 'guineapig' added "New" to that in his transcript. Chris Bastian has several variations on the "Monica... Roommate" theme, and the official FAQ just says "Pilot".

I could've sworn it was TOW Monica's New Roommate. Then again, my obsession with this show has been supplemented by Internet fan sites from the very beginning... :)

I've got the first tape, and on the back of it it says that it's called TOW it all begun
