Sorry no. I'm trying keep all of my Friends stuff on my site and quite a few people recently have been taking things off my site without asking and some people have even been copying the design of my site.

That's another thing I wanna ask, You told me that I can use serif draw plus to make a banner? How do you use serif draw plus when the design wizard don't work?

The design wizard works ok for me. Maybe you're doing something wrong.

It's definately not me who's doing anything wrong, I think it's the school computer, cause the school system crashed a while ago cause of a virus, and it's never fully recovered. Do you know how to make one from scratch?

Ugh that is the worst. Once someone had the nerve to email me and say that they stole the pictures from my pictures page and there was nothing I could do about it. I was so mad that I disabled it for a few weeks. There is a java code that disables right clicking that makes it a little more difficult, but a determined person can still copy images.

Yeah it is a pain when people keep taking things off your site. In the last few weeks people have took sounds, pictures and even the design of my site. And none of them have even asked to use any of them. Somebody was even asking me to do certain sounds and I later found out that they were putting them on their own site. Last week I decided to add the java code to disable the right click, so I can try and stop this from happening so often.

And actually, I'd be willing to bet that each and every star of Friends owns the rights to their "likeness", which means they could possibly sue you for using their pictures on your site without their permission (assuming you didn't write and ask. . . ).

California has a statutory (and common) law right of publicity. The statutory right of publicity, California Civil Code 3344, states that it is unlawful, for the purpose of advertising or selling, to knowingly use another's name, voice, signature, photograph, or likeness without that person's prior consent.

So you turning down a request to distribute a copy of a wallpaper (something you "created") is trumped by the fact that you used copyrighten material. Of course, you may not be selling anything on your website (i.e. making a profit off of someone else's work without their permission), so your use of the photos is deemed "private consumption". Unfortunately, I believe that also means you cannot control the distribution of such items either. So in a nutshell, people *can* take anything off your site that is not copyrighten. Toni is just being nice by asking.

This is exactly similar to "sampling" of one musicians music, to incorporate into an entirely different song by an entirely different group. This is what happened with The Verve and "Bittersweet Symphony." They sampled, got sued, and lost. Now the Rolling Stones own the rights to "Bittersweet Symphony", even though it was written entirely by Richard Ashcroft of the Verve, I believe.

This is true unless the actors/actresses of Friends have placed their likeness' into the public domain (which I doubt).

Are you referring to the logos, photos, art, and intellectual property that you are using without permission from Warner Brothers?
