S P O I L E R ? The British press is reporting that pop star Sophie Ellis Bextor will be replacing actress Helen Baxendale as Ross Gellar's ex-wife Emily on NBC's "Friends," according to Reuters.
"I'm thrilled with the offer," Bextor tells the Mirror. "I'd love to take on a role like this in high-profile show."
Bextor, 22, started out as a model but became a pop sensation last summer when she fought, and won, a battle on the music charts against Victoria "Posh Spice" Beckham, whose debut single was beaten to No. 1 by Bextor's "Groovejet (If This Ain't Love)," a collaboration with DJ Spiller.
The singer currently has another hit on her hands with a cover of Cher's "Take Me Home," which right now is No. 2 on the charts.
