Ross gone: comedic potential?

The fact that Ross wasn't around when Chandler & Monica announced their engagement was similar to TOW Everbody Finds Out, which was in syndication Sunday night. There, Ross wasn't around when Chandler & Monica first admitted they loved each other. This has the potential to be a cute running gag: everytime something major happens with Chandler and Monica, Ross is never around to enjoy it. (Aside from being periously close to realizing C&M first consumated their relationship in TOW Ross' Wedding.) Imagine Ross not being around for the C&M wedding itself (Ben describes the wedding over a cell phone to his father, as Joey did for Phoebe in TOW Ross' Wedding), and when/if Monica announces she's pregnant (which I predict will happen in the Season 7 fanale or the Season 8 premiere). I also predict Ross grumbling a lot in the Season 7 premiere about how he misses everything important.

It might be funny if he complained about missing everything important, then, later in the episode (or even in the finale), he accidentally hears Monica say something about being pregnant--like she's on the phone with the doctore. He'll know about THIS even before Chandler!

And then he starts congratulating Chandler and he's all like, huh? What? Chandler ends up being the last to know and him & Monica have a little argument, of course they make up later after picking out baby names or something.

I like that. I wonder what the reason for his absence might be? Perhaps he's had so many bad wedding experiences that he has a panic attack during the rehearsal and has to leave the church (or museum or wherever) . He tries to return for the wedding the next day, but can't bring himself to go inside, so he gives his cell phone to Ben, etc.

I imagine that will depend a great deal on whether and when CCA gets pregnant in real life. But I tend to agree with you that, if feasible, M and C's big story arc for most of Season 7 will be Planning The Wedding, and in Season 8, it will be Having a Baby.

I think they might all get marryed at the same time int the series finale. They set it up first all the girl sign up to us the museum at the same time. An in the season finale the girls set up a posability of who they plane to marry when they tern forty. All they need to do is set it up so this happens sooner. Remember the waiting period for the museum is two years. An the cast has signed for there last 2 year contract.

Right. You're forgetting something:

There was a cancellation, so Monica and Chandler will be getting married SOONER than Rachel and Phoebe would. They will still have to wait the two years.
