I was just at the E! website, where I read this for myself, and at first, I was totally confused, but now that I've read it over, I'd like to requote this sentence: "if you catch my hitched drift"

Thirtysomething territory + 'hitched drift' seems to me only to mean that Monica gets married to *someone*.

Unless of course, they plan on copying their last season finale, and shock us with another R&R union... I'd say more here, but I'll just get the R&R fans mad no matter how I try to say it..

Then, as an R&R fan, I will say it. You would prefer, perhaps, that they not keep recycling the same tired ideas over and over again. YOu would rather they didn't have R&R steal M&C's romantic thunder again.

I agree that having R&R suddenly get married again would be very bad writing. I'd like to see them exchange a kiss, perhaps, and take the summer to ponder its meaning, but C&M's engagement is a matter that should take center stage.

well no, not exactly... stealing thunder never entered my mind. Sure, I'm definitely more a C&M fan, but I'm not for having the two couples competing. I was just trying to say it would be bad writing to have the R&R relationship once again in question, or more teasing of the same as you guys have been getting since end season 3. At the time I wrote the last post, I couldn't think how to wrod it tactfully enough ;)

That sounds good to me.

I'm not Anti R&R at all. I quite enjoyed their relationship.. when they actually had one... and I wouldn't be upset at ALL if they put the two back together. It might actually knock some niceness back into Ross.

If Monica and Chandler do get married (as I pray) and he attends.. as it would suggest, it wont be "I take thee Ch...Richard" *lol* noooo.. I think there will be a C+M wedding.. maybe with a slight problem with Richard.. but the show will go on.. I hope so anyway !!!

and I seriously doubt they can possibly do an R+R marriage.. come on.. they did that with the last one.. and R+R should not be taken lightly.. it was a serious relationship that had a severe break up. R+R fans won't be mad with me.. their couple needs to be taken seriously now if we went them to get back together, which a lot of people (I'm open-minded about it all) want and NEED !!!.. it won't happen as quickly and as sudden as that.. it happened in Vegas.. but didn't work out anyway that's why R+R fans should be saying "roll on season 7 ...." a time to get rid of Elizabeth (I assume she is disliked by them).., and for R+R to get back together.

Don't stereotype us. I like Elizabeth. At this point, I want closure with a happy ending for Ross, who is overdue to have something good happen. Any punishment he's earned for anything he's done has been delivered a hundredfold. Notice I didn't mention Rachel. I don't care. She just doesn't care about anybody except herself.

One can assume that because Bruce Willis is playing her father for three episodes and his first appearance isn't for another couple weeks yet, that she will be around until the end of the season.

sorry for the sterotype.. man.. I should really learn not to.. I also stereotype myself as well.. if that's any concellation I didn't know you didn't like Rachel ?? I think she has become a lot less selfish.... but she is slightly annoying and still rather interested in things always going her way. she is a fairly decent character though.. although she really mucked about with Ross, I'm looking forward to next week's Jill appearance.. someone more like herself.. the script sounded cool.. and you know Rachel is at the end of the day a nice person.

Anyway, I just don't know what to believe anymore. In one spoiler, they said that things "would change for the worse for Chandler and Monica through an unfortunate chain of events", but then we read in this article that perhaps things won't be so bad as we think... Will there be a wedding, or will the happy couple (for now anyway) break up?? But can the friends become "thirty-somethings" if they in fact do break up?

good point it was this hidden meaning behind what the articlae said that threw me. how can the person know what is going unless she is closely related to writers etc.. because the taping has not occurred yet.. I don;t know about you guys.. but my nails will be trimmed a lot more between now and next weekend. I hope we get a spoiler.. the waiting is bad. now.. the person who said that turning the show from a twenty to thirty something show could be pleased about C+M, or they could be completely against them... gosh.. I personnally don't think a marriage can help the show unless there was a substantial engagement period. If they got married in the finale, they will have wasted all the pre-wedding storylines that would be available and basically brought them back to where they are now. There are other reasons why I think a marriage, by any couple, in the finale would be a mistake, but that's for another thread.
