Greetings!

After reading Tennants post, in which he assumed, that Monica had Nestl Tollhouse tollhouse cookies in her cupboard, I wanted to get more hints on that, since I wasn't sure, that I assumed correctly, that it wasn't cookies, but the ingredient chocolate chips (we don't have those in Germany either).

So, wherelse to look than on the internet?

So, check out:

http://www.verybestbaking.com/brands/tollhouse_morsels.asp

Or here the recipe:

Chocolate Chip Cookies
-----------------------------
Ingredients:

- 2 bars (2 ounces each) NESTLɮ TOLL HOUSE Unsweetened Baking Bars, broken into pieces - 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar - 1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened - 2 large eggs - 2 teaspoons vanilla extract - 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour - 2 teaspoons baking powder - 1/2 teaspoon salt - 3 cups quick oats - 1 cup (6 ounces) NESTLɮ TOLL HOUSE Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels

Directions:

PREHEAT oven to 350 F.

MICROWAVE baking bars in small, microwave-safe bowl on HIGH (100%) power for 1 minute; stir. Microwave at additional 10- to 20-second intervals, stirring until smooth.

BEAT sugar and butter in large mixer bowl until creamy. Beat in melted chocolate, eggs and vanilla extract until well mixed. Gradually beat in flour, baking powder and salt. Stir in oats and morsels. Drop dough by rounded tablespoon onto ungreased baking sheets.

BAKE for 12 to 15 minutes or until edges are set. Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely.

Can anyone from the states (who likes to bake cookies) confirm, that this is the actual recibe on the back of the Chocolate Chip bags?

Thanks and regards, Didi

I don't think the most common Nestle Tollhouse recipe calls for chocolate bars and oatmeal. At least, I've made that recipe hundreds of times, and have never used those ingredients.

Hi!

You're probably right. I stumbled over this one, after I posted this thread: http://www.verybestbaking.com/recipes/recipe_template.asp?id=614

I think this may be it...

I can authoritatively confirm (while holding the yellow bag in my hand) that the recipe in the link Didi refers to "is" the Original Nestl Toll House Chocolate Chip Cookies Recipe.

Thanks a lot for confirming this! I really have to try that the other day :-)
