problem

hi, I started taping the 1st season in syndication last week. anyway, i checked my digital cable box and they are running episodes out of order, which makes no sense! TOW the monkey and TOW alll the resoultions right after each other? tow all the resoultions was on like 3 weeks ago. this angers me so much. ughhhh, hopefully my box thing is wrong. Isabella

They'll usually follow a particular season order for the most part, but frequently omit a particular episode, or switch to a later season without finishing. I gave up trying to get an exact set of VCR tapes a long time ago.

They can't show some episodes at certain times because of the watershed. If you look on the sides of the videos, some are PG, others are 12 and some are even 15.

For example, The One With The Free Porn can't be shown at certain times because of the adult theme.

Keep in mind that it is on twice a day, and the early slot may be on one sequence and the late track on a different part of that sequence. It sounds like right now the early slot is showing season 1 and the late slot is showing season ... 5? or is it 6?

Yeah, that's true, even then they don't stay in sequence forever, do they ;-)

Looks like they completely skipped 414 too.

I forgot about the weekend slot being its own track (loosely speaking).

It's still been better than the Mad About You syndication sequence, though, at least the first 3 seasons.

Anyway, the thing is, if Isabella records the episodes with eight on an E180 tape, or nine on an E195 (or the American equivalent of our 3 or 3� hour tapes) then she will soon get every episode in sequence. When an episode is skipped it only affects one small block, and you just wait for it to come round again. At an average rate of 14 episodes per week, the cycle is only 12 weeks long.
