Here's a quote from People magazine, it's part of an article about David Schwimmer, who's very likely to become a director on _Joey_ "...Not that the star, who has directed Friends and will likely do the same with LeBlanc's spinoff 'Joey' plans to ditch his alter ego completely: "I'll probably bring the character to Joey"

That pretty much takes care of all those "Joey can't up with Rachel, cause he's got a spinoff coming up" - now Ross can't either since he's going to be a semi-regular character on Joey?

Not that any of this matters anymore, 10-04 was pretty obvious as to which direction this is going to take

It probably just means that there's a strong possibility we'll be seeing Ross in some form on the show. He doesn't necessarily have to move to CA like Joey; after all, he's got Ben and Emma in NY. Joey and Ross are pretty close, so the two of them talking on the phone occasionally is probably an idea the writers might use.

Yes, and even IF David does guest star on "Joey" very rarely he could still be there for some Dinosaur thing and Rachel is at home with the kids, it doesn't mean they may not be together.
