She wasn't really playing a character, she was portraying a 50's co-ed that worked in a diner in that diner-era. She just dressed in a swingy skirt and had a tight sweater etc. that was all the rage at that time.

I wondered if the huge knockers were significant. It appears not...., thanks to all who answered.
