Couldn't help but wonder who the Friends characters would vote for.

I'll have to think about this one. Its a very good question though. Remember that its not just Kerry & Bush running but several others as well.

Is this a US thread only :)? I'll have to think about this aswell, but I will cast my vote :)

Me, As I'm not an American, I couldn't really give a monkeys who wins and works in the Whitehouse's oval office. It won't affect me, and it's only Americans who'll have to put up with who ever gets in.

Here's what I think:

Joey - George W. Bush (he's the only one stupid enough to buy into Bush's campaign and blindly support him. Also, in an episode of "Joey", he says "I don't care for how that bird talks about our president".)

Phoebe - Ralph Nader (for obvious reasons)

Chandler - write in: Zaphod Beeblebrox (or something funny of the sort, I wouldn't expect him to take the election seriously and miss a chance for a snicker at himself in the booth)

Rachel - wouldn't vote (I just don't think she'd care enough, or think that she knows enough to make an infomed decision, she might even go and check something at random)

Ross & Monica - John Kerry (remember, these are well educated and informed people who grew up in NY, given the way that demographic is leaning, Kerry's a sure bet for those two. Some more justification: I go to college in Massachusetts, and I've yet to meet anyone who supports Bush, and trust me, I've asked all my friends if they know anyone who does, because I simply wanted to hear the reasons of why would anyone possibly want to vote for him, but they didn't know anyone either. The educated top of the middle class of white northeast America is definitely almost 100% Kerry)

Funny how Ross is suppose to be so well-educated and informed yet he had a problem naming all the states in the U.S. :) If political discussions between the friends ever made it into a storyline, I imagine Ross would have come across as one of those pompous, academic elitists who *thinks* he's smarter than everyone else.

If John Kerry gets elected, all that essentially has happened is that one screwball has been replaced with another screwball. Given that, it makes you wonder just how intelligent the "educated top of the middle class of white northeast America" really is.
