Does anyone know if the Friends creators thought of Phoebe as being Ursula's twin sister from the beginning of the series or did this develop later. Also, before Friends started, was Ursula ever referred to as Ursula Buffay in Mad About You?

I dont remember her being referred to as Ursula Buffay, but she was known as Ursula.

I think they could have gotten around that even if they did use a different name because of the way Ursula wanted nothing to do w/ Phoebe and she possibly could have gotten a name change, although apparently she didn't considering what we've seen of her this year.
