In TOW the Blackout Joey warns a lovelorn Ross that he's setting himself up for a fall with Rachel by telling him that he's waited too long to make his move and is now in the friend's zone. Little did Joey realise that eight years down the road he would be in the zone in the exact same situation.
The first guy to hit on Rachel was not Ross but Joey. (TOW the Pilot).

I do not expect anyone to believe, but this morning, I woke up thinking the same thing, and i even remembered the line, from Joey to Ross, "You're the mayor of the zone", that always cracks me up. BTW IMHO TOW the blackout was one of the best episodes, especially the inner speaches of Chandler is superb.
