In Charlies Angel's 2 Matt Le Blanc again plays the boyfriend of one of the Angels.
There's a whole thing between them about them being on a "Time Out" and Jason (MLB) not being sure what a Time Out actually means, relationship-wise. Deliberate reference to R&R or just a coincidence?
For me it's gotta be a reference, especially with it being MLB.
Great film by the way. It may not be Citizen Kane, but it's a great, fun, leave your brain at home, summer movie.

I caught that too. I thought, they should have just said "on a break", but that would be too obvious. I was looking to see if anyone from Friends would do any cameos at the "film premier" but didn't see any.
