I guess you are new here. For several years now a sizeable proportion of the people on this board have been British. They come here because, from what I could tell in a few visits, a lot of people on the British Friends newsgroup don't actually want to talk about the show. We have fallen into a habit of providing spoiler space for American episodes for at least a couple of months after they first air here so that our friends across the ocean can join in without having all the biggest tidbits blasted into their brains against their wills. This thread has now ruined something pretty big. I think one DOES have to realize that when a piece of news this juicy is floating around, the risk of spoilage is very high, but it really is too bad the father's name was put IN THE SUBJECT HEADING.

Uhh... you must be new to usenet or to here? Most newsgroup users are aware that some countries get things later than others... so if something "big" is happening in a show they put spoiler warnings in... NOT put something big in the heading... duh....

Also, it's a ng "about" the show, not just spoilers etc and when you can chose what you lurk and read it makes for interesting reading

I don't think this is the kind of violation that would, or even should, cause a person's account to get canceled. That kind of punishment is reserved for spammers and people who post obscene things. While a spoiler may be irritating, it really isn't obscene.

Mellow out, that was not a spoiler, the show aired last night. If you don't want to know what happened on LAST NIGHTS shows then don't come here. People who go to tapings and get advanced info have always been careful to put spoiler space. People commenting on a show that has already aired should not have to put spoiler info. This is a discussion group on the TV show. The TV show has already aired and thus items on the show can be commented upon.

Actually, in suggesting such an over-the-top reaction, they dilute the power of their argument. Spoiling the show for Europe is kind of inconsiderate. Nobody objective is going to think it's grounds for cancellation.

Don't be silly, for a start you ain't going to get anything cancelled. And secondly this is hardly the first spoiler to appear in a heading. Rachael pregnancy has been appeared on more than one occasion as a heading.

The bottom line is that this isn't a UK only group, so if you come here you have to expect a spoiler or two. Sure, we should all be careful, but how careful can you be. Terrestrial UK TV is so far behind that it's hard to not include at least one spoiler.

There are UK groups. If you want to rant at spoilers then thats the place to do it.

Rachel and Ross are so wrong for each other. I don't buy this subplot. Rachel hasn't been in love with Ross for a long time. No way she would have a one night stand with him. It should have been that Italian guy (that I could believe).

I know..what are they going to write..they been together for like years..the most was either being drunk, or having that extra night thing, but after so many years of not being together, I didn't really think it was him. Many people expect it was him, but I definitely one that didn't..or perhaps wanted another storyline that could still end up together

I could see that series finale thing working, I'd like that too. I personally love them as a couple. The Monica/Chandler thing is ok and all, but I don't really care. I absolutely want Ross and Rachel together, always have!

one night stands don't have to include "love" as a motive. They could have been bored and lonely so said "what the heck? lets go!"

No. this isnt true. Remember that one time when Rachel was walking around naked in her apartment and Ross saw her from his place and thought she wanted to sleep with him. He clearly said that he didnt want to do it if it would 'raise the question of US'. He was just looking for sex, no strings attached.

And what about the season 7 premiere. He was willing to go for the bonus night thing without giving it a second thought.

Ross is a guy. He has hormones. After three divorces, the guy probably doesn't get enough dates.

True. True. Rachel wasn't jealous of Elizabeth and Ross was cool about Tag. So there are pretty much over each other. So are the writers reaching for residual feelings with the pregnancy plot. Okay, it might work but its such a lame route to take especially if they want a season 9! IMHO

And if they are planning to put Joey and Phoebe together (are they hinting things with 802) I'll probably need a sick bag handy when I watch this years finale.
