i never used bitorrent before. do i have to rename this file? which player must i use?

You need to have a bittorrent client first.
What you need to do is to download the bittorrent client program (for instance from here: http://ei.kefro.st/projects/btclient/) and install that, after that you can double click the .torrent file you downloaded earlier, choose a location on your computer where you want to download the video file to and wait until the file is complete (might take a couple of hours, depending on your connection speed). As a courtesy, leave your bittorrent client open for a couple of hours after that, so more people can download the file from you. You can play the video file as soon as your bittorrent client says it is finished.
That sums it up I guess. I found a better tutorial here: http://home.quicknet.nl/qn/prive/romeria/howto.htm but if you need it in German, do a search for "bittorrent tutorial" on Google. I saw a lot of German sites in the search results. :-)
you can also download a copy off the "French site" http://www.friendsnet.fr.fm/ , go to their forum, read their conditions and explanations. (registration required). Much of it is in French though! You can use translation sites as http://babel.altavista.com/ to translate to your own language.

OK jus tried downloading and using Bittorrent 3.2.1b and although it's downloading the file, it cannot resume where it stopped!. I have a dial up connection so every 2 hrs my ISP disconnects me. I tried resuming the download but it starts from the start again! How annoying! I read the manual suggested, and did what it said, which is to pick the file from the HD to resume download, but it still hasn;t! The program doens;t have a resume or pause button, so what am I suppose to do??? Anyone? Running XP.

Naah, I tried your version as well, same thing, it's simply not resuming, always restarts the download from the begining. I hate this program! No buttons to click on (like RESUME buttom), no options, nothing. And it;s not resuming.It's just starts downloading all over. So definite no go for a dial up user. Back to Kazaa!

Try Azureus - http://azureus.sourceforge.net/ - you'll need the Java Runtime Environment (JRE), downloadable from http://www.java.com/
Azureus is probably the nicest BT client I've seen in a long time - it's very usable and definitely supports resume.
