Maybe the camera shot of Rachel at the end was just a "red herring". Rachel seemed somewhat surprised by the positive pregnancy test and didn't act too weird about it the rest of the show. She said she had just emptied the garbage the night before. But maybe it was "stuck" in there for weeks undetected. Maybe it was Monica and Ross's cousin that came to visit a few episodes earlier. She really served no other purpose. Again, just a theory.

Tha'ts a pretty good theory...because that's what I was thinking. Why wasn't Rachel acting strangely when Phoebe first found the positive test? Or later on when everyone was talking about it? Maybe they just shot to her because she was sad and wistful about being single. Maybe that was their lead into her and Ross getting back together next season - by showing how she really wanted marriage and children.

Another thing that didn't make sense is why would Rachel take the test at Monica's where people would be more likely to see it (monica, chandler and all the other hanging out there planning the wedding) instead of at her place where joey would be the only chance to see it (and then would he even figure out what it was? I mean who goes over to somebody ELSE's house to take a pregnancy test? Especially if you dont want everyone to know about it? I agree, I think it's just to throw everyone else off.I think it's gonna end up being like Monica or Chandler's Mom, wouldn't that be funny?
Generally people don't go looking through garbages, and the pregnancy test *was* intentionally covered up by several unused tissues! It's perfectly reasonable that she took the tests at Monica's...I mean, if I had to choose which bathroom to do something like that in I'd definitely go for the cleaner one (where the lock works!)
