Anyone else not really looking forward to this Thursday?

It always seems that the great seasons on Friends usually have been proceeded by a great cliffhanger the year, which in turn kept the buzz of the show up through the summer and well into the fall.

The 8th season cliffhanger had to be worst ever in this show's history, while the 7th season cliffhanger was probably one of the best ever. Ironically, the great cliffhanger followed a terrible season, while the great season ended with a terrible cliffhanger. Go figure.

This season just doesn't look that good so far. What made the 8th season great was you had this "this story can go anywhere" kind of feeling that enticed you to tune in. If the promos for this season are any indication, there isn't going to be any compelling mystery out there to watch this season, and I think people are going to get bored with this season pretty darn quick.

Hopefully I'm wrong, but I'm starting to think I'm not...

I think I already am bored with S9. Despite Tennant always saying "expect the unexpected", I'd be willing to invite everyone on ATF including lurkers for a beer... I've only read the spoiler for 901, but it seems Joey will be out of the picture *really* quick and then we'll slowly progressing towards the inevitable R&R reunion, Monica will go insane over her maternal instincts and Chandler and Phoebe will be there as well somehow.... *yawn*
