What is considered the best episode ever ?

OK I know every one can have a personal fave but which, if any, is considered the definative episode

Not everyone has the entire Friends list memorized, so maybe you guys could tell us actually what the episode is. It amazes me how much of your lives revolve around a sitcom.

I'm gonna say TOW the blackout...but who knows, that might change as soon as I press the Send key. lol. I also really like that one episode where Chandler tells Monica about how Ross crapped in his pants in Disneyland.

That wasn't a "best ever" choice. That was a snarky comment. This is season nine, likely to be the very last. The last episode in season nine would be 924. What he is saying is that the best Friends episode will be the one that ends the series for good.

Oh, I didn't think of it as a snarky comment. I figured the OP anticipated that the last episode would be a real spectacular, where they did the very best they could, and so it might possibly be the best ever.

The best minute, in my opinion, is in TOW Ross says Rachel, where Rachel has flown to London to selfishly try to grab Ross back for herself. She goes up to Ross, starts to tell him she wants him, and then (maybe for the first time in her life) her selflessness and generosity overcomes her selfish desires. You can see the loss and regret washing over her like a wave, and also see the strength she has to draw on to keep from telling Ross what she came to tell him. A vey fine performance by a very fine actress.

Oh, you've gotta love any of the flashback ones, the Prom one, the one where Monica cuts off Chandler's toe... My kids love those ones... But everyone is going to have a different favourite episode.

I don't think there is any one definitive episode. There might be a core group of them, which could include TOW Nobody's Ready, TOW the Poker, and other ensembles. Many of the wildly popular episodes center around one couple or the other, and folks who are not fans of that couple may not be as enthusiastic.

Well, here's what Friends fans and the show's creators voted were the 20 best episodes from the first 6 seasons, according to their two "The Best of Friends" boxed 2-DVD sets. Of course, nobody will agree completely the best episodes, but the writers seem to save some of the best and funniest stuff for Thanksgiving, because there were 4 Thanksgiving episodes on the DVDs.
