In one of the gossip sections of the latest edition of National Enquirer, it was reported that the rest of the Friends cast [DCMLJ] were a a bit piqued that Matt is going to have his own spin off and he hand't told them, as the first they heard of it was via the celeb press. The other 5 thought that series 10 would be the last and wanted Friends to go on a high note, and now that Matts got his own spin off show coming they are annoyed with him as they may have to make periodic apperances as guesst stars--poor lambs.
The report says that they are annoyed with his as he 'broke the bond of 6' by not telling them about this move, how naive can they get. Matt knows his limitations as an actor, and knows that the public see him as Joey, and he probably see's it as a chance of continuing regular pay checks, providing of course that the series is a hit with the viewers. Never mind, with the exception of Jen's movie career to date the others efforts have been rather banal, so maybe they will be grateful of the chance of a bit of guest spot work. :-)
