#downloadfriends

can someone please explain how to download a file in#download friends?

i know i can connet with "/ctcp..." and i can see the files with "dir".

but then??

please help.

when you list somebody's files (ie after the ctcp command), if you type "help" (without the quotes), you can see that you have to type "get #idofthefile" to retrieve the file, or, it can be "get nameofthefile"

when your type the get somefile command, the distant server answers that your request is placed in a queue. if you type the "queues" command (or something like this), you can see your position in the queue.

in order to download the file when it's your turn, you have to accept the file transfer. that depends on the irc client you use but, for example, i am using xchat under linux, and i have to click the "accept" button in order to get the file when it's my turn.

It probably queues up. you can Join #downloadfriends-chat and ask for help there. Someone will point you in the right direction. They also have all the episodes listed on their website so you know what they have on the servers

Maybe the queues are all full? Haven't used it for a while, but I think if you type "Queues" it gives you a list of who's queued for what and how many queue spaces are left.
