Since English is not my native language, I only understand like 90%-95% of the show when watching it the first time.
However, I got the following right at the beginning, but I don't really know what it means.
In 612 - TOW the joke, Rachel and Monica refer to Phoebe as flaky.
Could someone explain, what "flaky" means?

ooohhhhh, I so wanna tell you but for me this is one of those things that I know the answer to but can't explain. don't you hate it when that happens? it's like.... all over the place I suppose... well that's my definition and I know what I mean. anyone else got a definition better than mine? probably all of you...
It's a little difficult to describe, but it means inconsistent, irresponsible, a little strange sometimes..

Hm, when I heard it, I figured it would be something like Jac's definition from the context of the plot. But on the other hand, the other descriptions aren't that far away from that. See, that's why I asked, since I couldn't really say, what flaky meant, so I hope someone else would come up with a better definition. But now I know, I didn't misunderstood.

I'd say that it means that she's in space about things or just a little air-headed...not always "there" in the head or responsibility department...kind of floating along in her own little world doing her own little things. Does that make sense or confuse you more?

Seriously, she cleanses auras. She thought a cat was her mother because it went to the orange felt in her guitar case, and her mother's favorite fish was orange roughy. She thought rotisserie chicken was a cosmic sign that she should go see her father. She says things like, "Where would a raccoon get change to make a phone call?" She let a bee sting her in an attempt to do something completely unselfish. There are many more examples of Phoebe doing or saying something flaky, but my mind's blanking at the moment.
