i am running on a mac, does anyone know if this will make downloading and viewing episodes from the french site impossible??

No, why would it ? Of course you can download and view ( you just need a player with divx codec ) the episodes. If you donï¿½t have the right programs for the Mac (like Bittorrent od Bobdown) get your hands on a PC-Emulator and try it with that. It works fine for a friend of me ( with other programs). Hope I could help :-)
