What - no comments on this weeks show? Not even on the inappropriateness of Joey's sister? Or that Joey has brought Huggsie with him from NY. :)
I must admit that it'll have to improve it wants to become more than a one-season wonder though - they may need to pull out the Friends characters guest appearances.

After the sixth episode, it really does pick up. The problem with the first few episodes was there was no dynamic between the main characters, but once the characters' strength and weaknesses had been decided upon, the emphasis is placed on the entertainment.
I'm up to ep15 at the moment.

I agree with you there about the characters. When you watch the early eps, it just doesn't really compare to the newer ones. Ep 18 is really funny too.

I saw the pilot and it was dreadful - like an average episode of Friends where the writers really couldn't care less, and given how it used to be in its hey- day that was NOT a good start for a new series.
Example: Joey: I really wanted to make it big in Hollywood Cabbie: Then what are you doing here in Dallas? (sigh)
I've seen trailers a couple of other episodes, one where he was climbing the walls (literally) and breaking chunks off, and another where he kept calling himself "J-bird" and then cursing himself for doing so.
Laugh? I nearly watched tumbleweed cross the floor while the church bell tolled.
In terms of comedy, so far what I've seen of Joey has been as sharp as the scissors I used in primary school(!) and I bet you can't give an example of one LOL moment.
Those were both the same episode - the one last Sunday.
Yet not at all surprisingly you are here commenting on it like you have carried on watching it or have something worthwhile to say.
I've seen every episode so far and while it is not great, it's certainly not bad. It's just an average American sitcom, much like Friends was.
But IIRC, you weren't a fan of Friends either?

The first few seasons were good. Then it tailed off. I stopped watching early into season 9 as it was just a bad habit, then watched the finale. Ended up walking out the room and one point, not realising I'd stopped watching it, it was so bad.
The script and continuity had just gone totally out the window. I couldn't work out why Monica was desparate to adopt two kids when she was heavily pregnant. I found out after that her character wasn't pregnant, but clearly they'd made no attempt to frame her scenes so that it didn't show(!)
Well, it's sods law that CC would get pregnant immediately after they said her character couldn't have kids... :)

It never seems to have a plot. Friends, and most notably Frasier, had strong plots and a lot of the best gags came from that.
The only funny bits rely on Joey's character (like his reaction when the neighbour suggested a game of throwing trash in the bag using his body as a backboard), and a few one-liners.

Joey meets new female neighbour and helps her out with moving her stuff in. New female neighbour states she's actually moving out and in with her fiancee. Joey hands her stuff back in dismay.
I could pull a better sitcom out of my ass.
