Little glitch from the writers

Yesterday I saw a rerun of Friends (TOW The Blackout), and Joey told Ross that he had to ask Rachel out on a date quickly, because he had entered the Friend-zone. And once you're in the Friend-zone, you "can't" get together. But I remember that in season 5 or 6 (don't remeber!) Rachel tells Joey that maybe he should try to make friends, then get together, and not hit on his current friends. Joey loved the idea, but obviously, there was no Friend-zone, because he did hit on Rachel.

Actually, I don't think it's different, but I just wanted to say that because I think the way Ross said it is funny and blah blah blah.......
