HOLLYWOOD (Variety) - Revolution Studios has purchased the pitch ``The Lazy Private Eye'' as a starring vehicle for Matthew Perry, the ``Friends'' star coming off the hit comedy ``The Whole Nine Yards''
Paul Adee (``Taz'') will pen the script; the project was set up by producers Adam Rifkin and Steve Bing under their Shangri-La Entertainment banner.
In the action comedy, Perry will play the world's laziest private detective, who's hired to find a woman who turns out to be an ex- girlfriend, who broke his heart.
Perry's next big screen starring role will be in the Reginald Hudlin- directed ``Servicing Sarah.'' Rifkin most recently directed ``Detroit
