Ben's name

What last name did they finally end up with for Ben? Do we know? And, perhaps more importantly, what does he go by? Here are some thoughts I've had:

I was thinking that Benjamin Willick sounds like a scientist. "And the Nobel prize in science goes to Benjamin Willick for being first to fertilize a dog egg using the DNA of another female dog egg."

Ben Geller sounds like an average guy. Maybe in college he'll play sports. "The gang is going out for a beer. What to join us?" "Who's going?" "Jim Randall, Kyle Reynolds, Ben Geller . . . pretty much the whole lacrosse team."

Ben Bunch. Sorry, that one just isn't happening.

Benjamin Bunch? Well, maybe an author of science fiction. "The NY Times best sellers list is topped by Benjamin Bunch's 'A Shot Rang Out in Central Park.' This is Mr. Bunch's second effort, a sequel to his first hit, 'The Day The Bird Died.' "

Anyway, I couldn't sleep and this is what suddenly filled my head.

Do we know which last name his mothers have (i.e. share)? How "legal" is a lesbian wedding in the US after all? We, in Germany, had homosexual "marriages" introduced last year (or was it in 2000?), they're allowed to share the same name and raise their /own/ kids. The churches won't give their blessing though.

In German it sounds a bit like Benjamin I-want-him or Benjamin Horny. :-) Is it Carol Willick or Susan Willick?

Note the similarity to Ben Stiller.

I keep thinking of the Brady Bunch (sp?).

Yes, spelled correctly.

Maybe it's Benjamin Geller-Willick-Bunch... or Benjamin Willick-Bunch, or a permutation thereof.

My money's on Benjamin Willick-Bunch. Since Carol wasn't married at the time of Ben's birth, there's no reason she'd have to use Ross' last name.. And since Susan didn't give birth to Ben, it's natural to assume that her name would not come first...

Considering that Ben is short for Benjamin, his full name really could be either.. Afterall, they hardly ever call Joey "Joseph."

Nah, Joseph is his given name. Phoebe occasionally calls him that. (TOW All The New Year's Resolutions comes to mind.)

As far as Joey goes, they have said on a number of occasions that his given name is Joseph. With Ben, I don't think they have ever used anything but Ben.

It's not. Joey's full name is "Joseph Francis Tribbiani." We know this because Phoebe was shown calling him this, which got the response, "What are you middle-naming me for?"
