2. (main topic) Have you guys noticed how Friends always run in the same pattern? You get a really funny episode followed by a couple of 'nothing' type episodes, followed by a funny one etc?

3. Have you also noticed how there is always the odd one which is not funny at all and it seems as if it's been thrown together hastily in 5 minutes?

4. I was watching some season 1 re-runs on Saturday and it suddenly struck home to me how old they all look now. It's a shame. But I also realised that Lisa Kudrow was the same age in 1994 during series 1 as Matthew Perry and Jennifer Aniston are this year. Scary.

The characters all dress, act, and talk disproportionately older now - regardless of how old the actors are. . .

I have noticed that episodes start with a short scene followed by some music and lots of quick glimpses of people dancing in a fountain while names appear on the screen (though the people in the show seemed to be called different things). After that there seems to be a collection of scenes set majorly in flats or a coffee house. There seems to be a break in the middle (which doesn't seem to appear when I'm watching the videos I bought) and a scene at the end where more names flash up on the screen. There does seem to be a pattern!
