s p a c e . . . . . . . . Did you guys see the preview for next week's show? There's a tragedy in Rachel's family/life (i didn't catch the exact phrase) but she says to Ross, I need someone be with me tonight.

Now, just a hypothesis, let's just say that it's Rachels dad, or even her sister, and they got in an accident, or even worse, is now passed... Why on earth would they have it setup that Ross & rachel 'do it' when she's going through a tragedy? If they do, that doesn't speak highly of Ross, taking advantage of her loss like that. I hope they get back together... but it better not be something that questions his/her values.

There was a posting on here last fall I think that mentioned her dad was gonna die on an upcoming episode. Not sure where they got it from, and I can't find the post (don't remember what the thread was titled)

That isn't what "be with me" means. She wants Ross to be present with her so she can feel comfort in just being in the presence of another person that cares about her.

I believe from looking at those scenes again where she says that, she is indeed looking for comfort which he amply supplies and hopefully will tell them once and for all if they can count on each other from now on. Ross has shown in the past that he can be there for her and ultimately I believe this is indeed the setup to get them back together. Although, the "surprise" ending could be different since them together wouldn't really be a surprise, Terri
