Maybe mildly insulting to fat or overweight people.... Surely being overweight, fat or obese doesn't nescessarily mean that you're a loser in love, or childish and irritating.
Loose the weight, though, and you become suave and sophisticated.
Is that the message Friends was trying to get across? Maybe not intentionally, but they're certainly doing what most (if not all) of the media do - show thin people as having more fun (and sex).
I doubt that was the case, since the other five characters were childish and definately losers in love.
Wasn't the point of the episode to show that Chandler would always love Monica--that, fat or skinny, Monica was the same person?
I guess I'm going to be politically incorrect, but I think skinny people DO have more sex (fun is more subjective). Since I've been on both ends of the scale, I have firsthand experience, at least.

I really fo hate Monica now, she was slightly more funny in his ep because she's fat and l liked it when she wouldn't give chandler her kit-kat! but shew still got onmy nerves. I thoight Lisa Kudrow's cahracter switch was fantastic and it showed what a good actress she really is.

I hated that whole episode. Maybe it would of been better if we had individual stories and see how the other characters had got involved with them.
Loved the Ross and Carol thing though!
