The name 'Rachel'

I think bitchiness is a trait that comes with the Name Rachel (Spelt like that) Because I have a friend named Rachel, who keeps blowing me off all the time! And I am soooo pissed at her! Yes, I am her so called 'Best friend' riiiiiiiight. Nice one Rach, *Gives thumbs up.* I mean the name Rachel has some kind of trait..... my 'friend' totally pisses me off. It's like "Hey, Rach wanna go bike riding?" "Sure" 5 minutes later she's going to the mall with her sister... no notice whatsoever....She spends like 6 ours a day at the mall! What IS that?!?! How can people DO that?!?! I can't stand to spend an hour there! It's like "Too many people... No computers... GET ME OUT OF HERE!" but of course people lead me everywhere... Spencers(The ONLY store I like), G'thanks, all these other crappy stores that sell crappy things at stupid prices. How can people stand that? If I want to walk for 4 hours it better be Kings Island or for Cancer something important other than looking for crap that I could find at a garage sale or barrow from my friends! (My ONLY friend of course, which I love too mcuh to barrow things from.)It's like... UGH... Rachel makes me feel so crappy. "Theres Rock bottom, then theres 50 feet of crap, 100 feet of toxic waste, the new york city landfil, 8 zoos, All the 'Wild Wild West' movies that you can rent(Will Smith's movie), hookers, and then me!" I have a friend that makes me feel THAT awful. No wander why I put myself down all the time..... Don't worry people.... Bitchiness is a Recessive trait that comes with the name Rachel!

This brings me to a more OT thought - were Chandler's problems really nothing to do with his name as Phoebe once insisted? Kids can be pretty cruel when it comes to other kid's names, and the thought has occurred to me that it might have been a contributing factor after all.

You've got to wonder though... how many truck drivers are called Chandler? How many college professors are called Joey? (They'd probably have changed to Joseph...) Can your name *really* influence your life? In some cases, and I'd say a name like "Chandler" was one of those, I think it can alter other people's perception of you, and thus your image of yourself. Chandler just sounds (excuse the Americanism) "preppy". He should be in a John Hughes movie... :)

Ah no, remember our discussion of Brecht and other literary theory? For Chandler to completely exist as a character, he has to have a back history, he has a psychology, he has fears and foibles and knows things we have never seen and probably never will. The person Chandler is today is so much MORE than the sum of the writers' input, otherwise why would we (as a ng) be so outraged when he behaves "out of character"???

He would certainly have more authority in some jobs as Giuseppe Tribbiani... but in acting it would probably only help if he wanted to work with Scorcese, Coppola, etc... where a name ending in a vowel guarantees success.

Did they ever do the obvious "refer to Mon as 'that woman'" joke?
