Anyone surprised that it is a GIRL!!! And what was with the weird names that Rachel was giving? Isn't that Phoebe's job? I was a very tiny bit surprised because I thought that she was having TWIN GIRLS!!! From the promo from last week I could have sworn that she put an s at the end of girl. Which they totally gave away in the promo! Comments?

I just finished watching my taping of 813(i watched it back to back with the Friends that is on at 11pm...). I thought Joey was real cute tonight and once again the "gay" theme is brought to Friends. And always pointing to Chandler...hehe.

I didn't even read it that they are simply considering it. I know they didn't address it specifically, but when Ross said something about "little Ruthie Gellar," Rachel didn't blink. It struck me that it was just assumed the baby's last name will be Gellar. Maybe they will address it more specifically later. Scott
The only reason I said "considering" is because you never know if in a future episode all of a sudden it changes and they fight over it or they just don't mention it again and it turns out to be Green. I was basically trying to cover my butt on that one. it just made me remember the small little argument on here before about what tha baby's last name would be.

ITA. My sister is adopted (came home from the hospital to us). I certainly don't of her as "my adopted sister" and my brother as my "real brother"

Biologically, it's his half sister....but, why do you want to focus on that aspect? Half brothers and sisters can be just as close as full brothers and sisters. The issue here is the baby being loved by all concerned and I feel quite sure Ross will refer to this new baby girl as Ben's SISTER, not half-sister or anything like that. It almost sounds like you would like to see Ben shun this baby because they aren't FULL siblings. That's not only anal but it's very shallow.

I totally get you. You were just using it in its technical sense, like one might refer to someone as a cousin or neice, or friend, but that doesn't mean one can't be as close to them as one would to a 'full' sibling. [1] You made no aspersions as to how she would be treated by Ben.
