Ok. I know we are all a little bit shocked by wait happened, but let's give it a logical look. Ross and Rachel had their chances. They were on again off again and whos to say that if they did get together they wouldn't break up again. It would be bad for Emma as Ross said. It could also be good but yet I don't think so. Now Joey's prepostition seemed real to Rachel. I don't think she would have said ok unless she was prepareed about what she was saying yes to. It seems as though Joey still has feelings for Rachel and we don't know whether she has developed feelings for him. If Ross and Rachel were married then divorced they would lose their biggest bond which is their friendship. I think they have gotten over all the breakups. We cannot dismiss the fact that Rachel aggreed to marry Joey. We don't know what is going on in her head. Ross could just have been bringing Rachel flowers because she was glomy and she just went through a terrrible ordeal. I think she needs a little pick me up. Even us Ross and Rachel fans cannot deny that Joey is a great guy and I think he would be great for Rachel. She is a nice women and they seem to have a strong bond. I think their bond is stonger than Ross and Rachel's when they first got together. I don't think Joey would give Rachel the ring, but maybe he thinks it is just there as a sign. I don't know, but this is what he wants. In the past season finales have tricked us such as when Ross went into Rachel's room; Bonnie and Rachel were there. They did get together and broke up again. The season finales have not always been leading us toward the stuff that actually happens. It seems to be a game of trickery. There post-relationship life was centered around making each other jealous and stuff like that. That would not be good for them. They need relationships but not for each other. It could be a great thing although it has never ended good between Ross and Rachel. We have not seen Joey and Rachel together so I think we should. I liked Julie out of all Ross' girlfriends and I would like to see her return. If Ross and Rachel get together and get apart or divorced Ross would start a new family and Rachel and Emma would be left alone unless Rachel had a husband and Joey would be a good one. Rachel has rejected Joey twice once when he was in love with her and once when he proposed before. I think she would say no again, but maybe she doesn't want to. She feels comfortabel with Joey and so she said yes. I like Ross and Rachel, but maybe they are not meant for each other. So we will have to wait and she. I would like to see the writers fix this.

you fool Joey is susposeto end up with Phobe unless of coarse the writers have been playing around with us all these years and the ring wasn't even Joey's

But...it wasn't. It was Ross's.

was anybody else dissapointed in Joey's response when rachel was venting to him? When said the part abour ross getting a real family, joey said "yeah i guess." Ok..... his friend is crying to him about being alone, shouldn't he have said, "yeah i guess. But you will too rach." or "you know that will never happen with ross" or the most logical "you'll never be alone, because you have ALL OF US." As if Joey is the only one in the group who wouldn't allow rachel to be alone.....

When I watched this again, yes, I think a case could be made that Joey did seem to put himself out as the one who would never desert her and that Ross would be a question mark. Knowing that Joey is really a good guy and usually very good to all his friends, I don't think this was how it was supposed to come off. But if Joey wasn't so well-liked, I think more people would be questioning his motives there.

I really don't think it's Joey's place to speak for all of their friends. If he is going to commit to making sure Rachel is never alone to raise Emma, then he *should* only commit himself.

I might have to watch it again, but I didn't think he actually committed to anything. I thought he was just stating a fact (or his opinion) knowing how close their group is.

But look at the result. Joey put himself up as the one who would be always be there while agreeing that Ross probably wouldn't. Whether he meant to or not, he put himself out there for Rachel to grab at for comfort while discarding Ross. I don't really "blame" Joey for this because I don't think he intended to screw Ross that way but that is what happened.

Oh yes, I agree about the result.

Knowing Joey, he will surely clear up the mix-up. But, having feelings for her, he might turn around later and make an offer of his own.

That wasn't a propostion. That was him turning around shocked as heck. To make a proposition, you have to ask a question.

She only said yes because she was afraid of being alone and depressed because she thought Ross wouldn't be there for her. Were we watching the same episode? Did you miss all of that part?

I think her saying that she doesn't have feelings for him should be a hint. ;)

Again, she was desperate. Is that a reason for someone to accept a marriage proposal? I think not.

If he's such a great guy, then how come he agreed with her when she was going on about how Ross wouldn't be there for her? What kind of friend is that?

He was just comforting her by letting her know that whatever happened she wouldn't be alone. I don't think he was saying that Ross was going to abandon her.

that?

When a woman is going off talking and having an emotional release you LISTEN and allow her to release it. You do not counter with logical points and solutions.
