But if he could sleep with all of those (attractive, sexy) women in THIS life, why couldn't he have managed at least someone other than Janice in the other? :) Even really really *awful* people often have a fairly healthy sex life... ;) Alternative realities have to mirror the real one in SOME ways, otherwise they're not just alternative but "way-out-there".

I've just downloaded the transcript for 615/616, and seen the writers...

Wow! There's been a lot of talk on ATF about bringing back the old writers, and how Kauffman & Crane should get more involved with their baby again, and now it looks as though this is just what's happened.

So, WITHOUT ANY SPOILERS, did this move work?

Did 615/616, whatever it was about, please you?

Was it a good story?

Was it funny?

Were the characters more like they were in the first 5 seasons?

Does this herald a return to top quality for the show?

Yes, I liked it as well - it was certainly a welcome surprise considering that I was certain something was going to happen in this episode to make me not like it.

Yep. If I ever get done with this alternate S6 I'm writing, I may write a fanfic using the characters from this universe.

Yep. There are some very funny running gags, some very sweet moment

Phoebe's character was hysterical - but I liked Ross and Monica a lot more in this universe than others. CCA looked a *lot* better in this episode. The character didn't have the very hard edge she has nowadays, either (hope that's not a spoiler). Rachel was like she was *right* at the very beginning of the show. I actually felt quite uncomfortable watching Joey being the womaniser in this episode, which is strange because normally I love him - when he was coming on to Rachel I was just thinking 'What a jerk - I'm *glad* he got killed off!'. And Chandler reminded me of Richard in Caroline in the City (Claire's going to hurt me for that one :)). But all in all, I'm glad the characters are who they are now (with the exception of Monica and possibly Ross).

It heralds a ratings stunt, which people appear to have either loved or hated. I personally loved it, but I can see how others would hate it.

Caroline in the City...I actually used to enjoy that show in its early stage, no comment about the next and final stage.

Same here. Liked it first season, still not seen all the second season to comment, third season was pretty bleh, not seen any of fourth season because I got bored there. :) Richard was my favourite character, coincidentally, so it was quite fun to see Chandler reminding me of him. :)

I can't actually remember them. CitC was a show I watched just for watching - I liked the characters, but it was never like Friends, Buffy/Angel and Roswell, where I *needed* to know what was going on with them. Put it like this: it was never in 'I need to know everything about this show NOW' status, whereas the aforementioned shows are.
