While I saw the two most recent episodes when they were on, I really
wasn't paying much attention to them. So I watched them again yesterday.
All I have to say is, unless these scripts get substantially better, then
it's time to go bye-bye!
Yes, each had their moments, like Joey and Rachel dropping the
spaghetti on the floor, and then Joey picking it up and eating it. And the
line where Chandler told Ross "Well just don't marry this one," was pretty
funny, but for the most part, these plots aren't doing much for me. Here we
go again, even though its' only "temporary" with the game of musical
roommates. Would Rachel Green who has a good job at Ralph Lauren really
want to live with someone else anyway? I'm just having a hard time buying
into that.
As for Ross's Twinkie.....I'm ambivalent. I don't mind her yet I'm not
embracing her. I don't feel any sparks here between these two. That being
said, I do want to applaud because FINALLY the Ross in this storyline is
bearing a resemblance to the original Ross. Is Red Ross finally gone? I
sure hope so. His going to Florida to be with her (I'm sorry, but I can't
even remember her name) was going a little bit too far, but I'll grant them
poetic license. It was a little funny, but I have to wonder why he'd do
something like go on MTV and alert Joey to it, when he knows that if they
get caught, he's going to get fired.
The characters seem like they're being written with a sense that they
have gone astray a little and have become more than just somewhat
unrealistic. However, the basic plots of these last two episodes (the
refrigerator, the dueling dates for Rachel, the who'll room with whom bit)
really made me wonder if they've run out of ideas. Some of the spoilers
I've read suggest there could be some future classics on the way, but I sure
hope they're better than the last two or the entire waste of Janine....what
a dud that plotline was.
Finally, Jennifer Aniston looked reaaaaaally nice in that yellow top in
that one episode.
