There has been a lot of discussion on using spoiler space the past few days and many points of view have been expressed. I am curious as to the number of people who want spoiler space vs number of people who don't.

Here are the options: NONE - This means you don't want spoiler space for anything. Aired in US or not. USONLY - This means you don't want spoiler space for shows aired in the US, but you do want it for shows that haven't been aired yet. YES - This means you want spoiler space for all shows that haven't been aired in either US or in other English speaking countries that get the show.

If you don't care put YES, but only if you would be willing to put the spoiler space.

Also, spoiler space doesn't have to be a 1000 returns. A few are fine, plus I think using the ROT-13 is a good option as well. In your reply also let me (and everyone else) know what you think the best way to hide spoilers are.

Either 15 to 20 returns with the word spoiler space at the top or ROT-13 marked as a spoiler letting people know it is a scrambled spoiler message. NEVER having spoiler content in a subject.

I vote yes, even though I always read them anyhow, but I suspect that's not going to help the people that are adamantly against them, plain don't care, or seem to think this is just a "U.S." newsgroup - but one can only hope for ng peace.... :)

Well I actually don't know all of the countries that get the show and what their schedules are. I was mostly thinking of the US and UK, but I may have been wrong about this. I didn't mean to rule anyone out. I wasn't thinking of the show being broadcast in different languages. Sorry.

It seems that Aus and NZ are pretty close to getting the shows at the same time as the UK now, so I would agree with the english speaking countries rule because it is not really deviating from the "wait till UK gets it" standing agreement.

But I'd like to know why we are putting spoiler space in every post and responses to each post. If we put Spoiler in the subject shouldn't that be enough?? People just dont have to click the post.

I am sick of all the spoiler space debate...yes, I think it is necessary (or at least a warning of spoilers) if the episode hasn't aired in the U.S before, and I have made that mistake. I think, however, it is stupid that we must warn for spoilers when the topics discussed apply to episodes already seen in the U.S (801-804 in this instance). I am a very accepting person, but I am an American and I want to freely discuss an American TV show without having to worry that mentioning Ross says Rachel in his vows will 'spoil' some person in Iran.

It seems that there's a *very* small minority that don't want spoiler space that are ruining it for the rest of us, and makes it look as if we need these kinds of posts. It's apparent that most people want spoiler space :)

No offense, but this poll is kind of pointless. Everybody knows that the regulars in here want and use spoiler space, but the newbies don't know any better and you can't get them to abide by the spoiler rule and say "But it's the consensus of the group!" No body owns this group..it's always going to have people in here spoiling things..unfortunately. Discussing it won't change anything.
