What the HELL were the Wayans Bros. doing to Dewey in Scary Movie?

Last weekend, I took the liberty of watching all 3 Scream movies so that I'd prepare myself for Scary Movie. Both Shawn and Marlon Wayans had a character named Doofy which is a rip-off of Dwight "Dewey" Riley (played by Courtney's husband, David Arquette) and protrayed him as a complete idiot.

Dewey wasn't like that in the Scream trilogy, and you can ask the Arquettes (Courtney and David) themselves about it if you want to.

BTW, Cheri Oteri's protrayal of Gail Hailstorm (a parody of CCA's Scream character, Gail Weathers) is delightful. But I'm glad they didn't make her into a total idiot.

But they did it so funny ... And also, Dewey WAS a little "doofy", remember when the killer called Sidney in her friend's house and after the call was already over, Dewey came with his vacuum and picked up the phone? It was so hilarious..... Besides, it's just a parody :-) Roni
