The producers have already stated that "Friends" will not deal with the setup for "Joey", similar to the way "Cheers" did not send Frasier off to Seattle in the final episode to set up his spinoff.
When was this? I can't believe Friends will end with Joey in NYC and then the next thing we see is Joey in LA with no explanation as to why he's there if it isn't somehow set up in the last eppy of Friends.

BTW, "Frasier" absolutely was planned before "Cheers" went off the air -- the pilot was filmed a week after "Cheers" filmed its last episode. The producers simply chose to let "Frasier" stand on its own, rather than devoting any of the last episodes of "Cheers" to setting up the spinoff. And the same is going to happen with "Friends" and "Joey".
If what you say is true (which I feel at best, is questionable), then "Joey" shouldn't have any problems with being a hit show if it follows the same protocol as "Fraiser" did. Right? ~~~ Kathy

In one of the final epsiodes Joey tells his friends about a opportunity he has in LA about having his own TV show... and he mentions flying out to LA to meet the producers and such... he also mentions something about having pizza delivered everyday to his new show lol... same ol' Joey!!
