hey, here's an odd question. With the whole CBS Survivor craziness, i thought i'd apply it to Friends. So, which character does everybody think would be the last to survive, if our 6 friends were placed on a desert island?

I understand your point about how she's survived tough conditions before, but I really think the diet will be a problem for her. Chandler and Rachel are hopeless; they can't endure hangnails. I think Joey's made of sterner stuff. He loves sandwiches, but remember - he was the one who actually found the wax in TOW Morning After edible. His ability to survive on weird food is higher than most. Still, if Phoebe can't eat and Joey wants sandwiches and Monica collapsed vaccuming the beach, and Chandler and Rachel are as useless as I suspect they are, guess who is left. Dr. I-study-neanderthals-for-a-living. So Ross, as the only one without a major problem, wins!

Ross was even squeamish about breast milk, and he suffers from food allergies. Though I've been defending Phoebe, that was only to insist that she's better than useless. She & Ross would be next to go.

That leaves eat-anything kill-anything build-anything Joey, and Monica who won't give up no matter what, until Joey eats her.

Okay, Phoebe *is* a vegan, but only when she wants to be. After receiving a 99 cent coupon for a steak & lobster dinner, she retorted to Monica that for 99 cents she'd eat her - though maybe she didn't mean it.

Lol... but is Ross allergic to all shellfish, a major part of their island diet? Are there any script references? I checked oysters, but there's just Chandler & Monica eating them. Did Ross eat Mrs.Talmant's crab cakes?

And of course there's no kiwi fruit & peanuts on the island either.

Monica said "you're allergic to lobster and peanuts and... oh my god" so kiwi fruit was third, but there might have been a long list of allergies.

BTW, before somebody else mentions it, Monica has said that she's allergic to shellfish & birds, but that was just to get her own way.

Is that what we call tickling? Ross has the patience to do that, Phoebe could get the fish to come to her, Joey would spear them, Monica would make Ross & Joey catch fish for her (and make it into a mousse), Chandler couldn't get the hang of it, and Rachel wouldn't try.

Sadly, Phyllis seems to be saying that the show is not a matter of survival, but an inverse democracy: in which case I think Ross & Joey will try to knock each other out; while the others gang up on Rachel & Phoebe; before turning on Ross, then Joey. Chandler lets Monica win.

She'll have it though once in a while, remeber in Vegas when she ate some steak? "For $.99 I'll eat anything"..I also think I remeber her drinking Milk when they were eating Milk & cookies in an older episode. She will abandon her morals once in a while, if she was on an island I bet she would eat meat to survive.

I don't think Monica would get kicked out first because she'd be the workhorse of the group..Bossy yes, but she knows how to get things done. The first to leave I think would be Rachel (complaining, doesn't seem to know much about nature, etc). Then Ross, just because I think Mon would get sick of him and her & Chandler would vote together. Joey, Phoebe & Monica would be the final 3. Monica would miss Chandler but vote him off if she thought he would be competition or wasn't pulling his weight. J&P would vote Monica off, and then I think the final winner would be Phoebe, because she can be competitive and sneaky when she wants to be.

The way the tv show works is the voting off method. I think the way they are doing it on the tv is once it gets down to 2 then the ones kicked off get to pick the winner, so would they choose Chandler or Monica?

5) Monica. She'd try to be leader and organizer of the group, and everybody would get sick of her ordering them around.

2) Ross. He'd be like the "Richard" of the group. He only lasts this long because of his scientific knowledge. They all knew they needed him to survive, and he constantly reminded them of that. But now that the other four get to come back to decide between him and Phoebe, they gladly kick him off.

This was published on the internet a couple of months ago, but I thought it was hilarious.

Anyway, I think it would go like this:

First one off: Chandler... Monica would miss him, but they'll share the prize if she wins, so she'll sacrifice him. And Chandler doesn't know how to build a hut or go fishing anyway.

Second: Ross... Monica would hate having her brother around all the time and she'd probably end up sitting on him before voting him off. Phoebe would be sick of him lecturing them about the sand on the beach, and she would get Joey and Rachel in on her plan.

Third: Rachel... After losing the competition over a mattress or a shower she'd be happy to go home.

Fourth: Joey... In dying need of sandwiches and a proper meal, Joey gets voted off the island by the two women.

Last, but not least: When the four others return to the island, Phoebe gets all the sympathy, and Monica is voted off.

No, no, no, no, no... you're all forgetting that they each get to bring a luxury item. Rachel would bring suntan lotion. Ross would bring *something useful*. Chandler would bring a playboy. Joey would bring a sandwich. Phoebe would bring her guitar. Monica would bring *something useful, but cleaning related*.

1) The gang would unanimously vote Phoebe off, as they are *already* sick of her songs. Even Joey, since he wanted to get out of the stupid deal he made with her to eat no meat, so that she could eat meat while they were on the island. Phoebe 5 Rachel 1

2) Rachel would manipulate Ross into voting her way, and he would be totally unable to resist the well tanned vixen in a thong bikini(who could?). She would steal Chandler's playboy while Chandler & Monica were having sex in the bushes, and get Ross to give the magazine to Joey in exchange for also voting her way. Monica 3 Rachel 2

3) Rachel gets Ross to tell Chandler that Joey stole his playboy. Joey 3 Rachel 1

4) Chandler goes bye bye, even *if* Ross gets a clue, he would still choose to keep the useless person that he could get to have sex with. (which sure as hell isn't Chandler) Chandler 2 Rachel 1

5) The others would come back and vote Ross off, since they believe it was he who was the mastermind behind their respective downfalls. As far as they know, all Rachel ever did was sunbathe and go for the occasional swim.

Of course, even with all the money from winning this thing, (and the obligatory playboy spread) Rachel *still* can't afford to live alone. The Friends would have since seen the tapes of the show and figured out what really happened, and none of them would let her live with them. Except Ross, but only in exchange for much of the money she got.

wow, you have a strong faith in rachel. In my opinion, she would have been the second one off. Monica being first. Although, come to think of it...monica is tricky and always wants to win. Therefore she'd form an alliance. Chandler would be in it (for obvious reasons) and i would also think that ross would too. Together they'd get rid of rachel, then joey, then phoebe, then they'd pick each other apart. I don't know what would happe next though.

OK I have never seen the show, but I read an article about it and figured out how people get kicked off and why..so I'll give it a shot now.

First off would be Rachel because she wouldn't be able to pull her own weight.

Second off would be Chandler because he is completly useless, his jokes won't help him.

Third off would be Monica because everyone would just be annoyed by her wanting everything perfect, and constantly pestering everyone.

Fourth off would be Joey, because he doesnt know much about nature and would have a difficult time in the end, he would only be good for strength.

Then everyone would vote Ross off because of all his science talk.

Phoebe would win.
