MP's movie roles

Hi all,

Anyone else think like I do, that MP will have to pick a different type of role for his next big screen role ?

I love his movies & he's my fav character on the show, but all he seems to do is play the bumbling romantic lead. I know that he's a comedian by trade, (although some will argue with that), but I'd love to see him in a meatier role.

If he was to play the bad guy, or the typical "Dishevelled New York Detective" on a murder hunt, just to prove that there's more to him than looking confused...

And if he could get hold of a good bad guy role, I don't doubt that he could do a hell of a job with it. Have you seen "Primal Fear"? Imagine Perry in the Edward Norton role. He's probably too old for the altar boy character now, but think back to when Primal Fear came out...mid 90s...I think he could have done a convincing job in that film (he and Norton are ~almost~ the same age - their birthdays are only a day apart)

Yes he has, he played a very serioud roll guest starring on Beverly Hill 90210. I don't think he had one joke..

No flaming reqd.. You are, of course, right. MP has a total of four lead film roles to his name, not including, wait for it, "Microsoft Windows 95 Video Guide" (http://uk.imdb.com/Title0210840 ) which he starred in with JA. I'd love to see that one.

I haven't seen Almost Heroes, but gather it was not terribly well received, and doesn't count as a serious role. His most serious role was in Fools Rush In, but the limited storyline hardly pushed him to his limits as an actor. Similarly, LK's film roles have never allowed her to show what she can do, except in The Opposite Of Sex.

I happen to like the bumbling romantic lead. Somehow itz always new to me, but I think that I will like anything he does. It would be interesting to see him play the role that you described of course he would probably have the detective be clumsy or something :)
