A 10th season may not be that farfetched...

A strong indication that "Friends" may go another year was laid out yesterday when Lisa Kudrow, perhaps the most resistant to do extra seasons in previous years, is now not really opposed to another season if the writing and acting remained up to last season's level.

Here so far is what each "Friend" has said publicly:

Matt LeBlanc: Two weeks ago when interviewed by Jay Leno and asked the question of is this was the last year, he conceeded that he really isn't sure what will happen and quickly wanted to change subjects.

*Matt would probably be most open to a 10th season, so his hesistation probably should be expected.

Jennifer Aniston: While saying in articles during her press tour for "The Good Girl" that she was pretty sure this would be the last year, she was also pretty quick to bring doubt to Jay Leno saying this was the final season.

*Jennifer is probably the only one of the 6 whose potentially successful movie career wouldn't influence her decision to do more "Friends". In addition, she also said at the start of the 8th season that she was positive it was all over after that season.

Lisa Kudrow: From the report above, also wouldn't mind doing a 10th season now seeing how the show has rebounded to be #1.

*With Lisa's movie career starting to sag, I wouldn't be surprised if she would hold off another year in the movies for a $25 million dollar payday.

Matthew Perry: Was on Jay Leno last Thursday, and said he seemed pretty sure this would be the last season, but said he thought it would be too painful to leave the family they have made there.

*A lot may hinge on how "Servicing Sarah" does at the box office. If it flops, Chandler Bing may come back again for season 10.

Courtney Cox Arquette: Has yet to comment publicly about a 10th season.

*She would probably be 2nd least resistent to do a 10th season, behind Matt. She does have 2 motivating factors: 1.) To get an Emmy nomination since she is now the only Friend to not have one, 2.) To get out of the house and avoid being around her husband all day.

David Schwimmer: Has yet to comment publicly about a 10th season.

*He is the X factor here. Whichever way he leans is probably a good sign of where everyone else will lean. Probably one of the major reasons Ross has become so unpopular over the past few seasons is because David has openly made clear he wanted to do other things, when everyone else thinks he has one of the best jobs in the world, and has always been resistant to do more seasons of Friends.

NBC should concider doing a spin off show about her & her twin (I wonder if she would get 2 paychecks) this would open up a LOT of opportonities for guest charecters from past & present NBC shows to come together and do spots. Since most of NBC takes place in or around NY. Ya got Ursala still working at Riffs & Pheobe... well working everywhere. There could be some interesting story lines here. Not to mention how cool it would be each week to see what stars are stopping by. Add to that the bonus of keeping the characters we miss from past shows alive & keeping Hollywood employed!

I love Matt, I cant wait to see his new movie. The character they developed for him on the show did very well for his career So far I dont see him having any trouble finding work outside of Friends.

Maybe she's still waiting to hear about the possibility of another "Scream"

He's done other things (films) & hasn't found much success. Possibly he is tired of how his charecter on the show has been defined. I almost went insane during his whiney self pity days It was because of those days I was finally able to get over (and be glad) the fact he & Rachel were no going to hook up.

Its his bread & butter. He's got a garenteed hit with the added benifit of working with people he loves (or does he.... hmmmm) Maybe David isn't as attached the the crew as the others are. Who knows.... Then again he might strongly desire to shed the Ross image A.S.A.P. so he can take on different roles in Hollywood. Or he could just want a looooooong vacation. After 9 years at any job doing the same thing over & over & over you're bound to want a break to do something new.

Or maybe he would like to concentrate on his theater company. I know he loves working in the theater and he's excellent on stage. After you make a huge amount of money, what does it matter anymore? When money is out of the equation, you do what makes you happy and what satisfies you most.

I would hate it if the chose her. That would be the only spin off I probably wouldn't watch. I've always really hated the Pheobe character. Not just in a least favourite kind of way, but I wish she wasn't there at all. I swear I've never laughed at a single line of hers, and her 'stupid' lines are just too over the top.

2 fun possibilities:

Bring the entire cast back, but in a different sit, and as different characters. That way they get to stretch their acting muscles, while we still get the humour and the ensemble.

Friends with a counter group of friends (maybe: Chloe, Jasmine, Gunther, Isaac, Janice and Richard Burke).
