Despite the heavy promos on TV for the much anticipated epiosde TOW Rachel's Dream a new episode of Friends fell to a rerun episode of CSI.

Yes, but the two shows weren't really competing. FRIENDS won the 8 PM timeslot. CSI aired an hour later.
